There’s no doubt of the growing realization that our consumption patterns are having negative effects on the environment and climate. More and more governments, corporations, business owners, and individuals are requesting that architects and corporate designers incorporate sustainability into their projects.
When choosing materials for interior fit-outs, including flooring, the answers as to which products are the most environmentally friendly can be complicated. There are carpets available that use sustainable yarns such as ECONYL, which are produced from recycled fishing nets and other waste materials transformed into strong and hard-wearing textile flooring. RC+D's exclusive partnership with Ege Carpets ensures that the most rigorous checks and balances are adhered to when sustainability comes to mind. All of our Ege carpets are GECA Certified, incorporate a cradle-to-cradle sustainability concept, and adheres to the ISO 14001 standards as well as being registered under the Economic Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

GECA Certification
Australia’s built environment plays a significant role in reducing environmental and health impacts. Minimising these impacts and creating more sustainable buildings and communities is what drives the many schemes available in Australia and globally.
GECA standards are rigorous, scientific, and relevant to key Australian industries. They follow the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 14024 principles for global best practice in ecolabelling. They are designed to reward top environmentally performing products and services and are internationally recognized through GECA’s membership of the Global Ecolabelling Network.
